DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1772, the Veuve Clicquot House has since lived by its motto, “Only one quality, the finest”. “Yellow Label” is its signature champagne, the symbol of the House’s art of blending, defining the Veuve Clicquot style through a ideal balance of strength, aromatic intensity, freshness and silkiness. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse. Grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different Crus go to the blending of Yellow Label. Traditionally, the proportion of each grape variety used is 50 to 55 Percent Pinot Noir, 15 to 20 Percent Meunier and 28 to 33 Percent Chardonnay. Then, to achieve, year on year, the consistency that makes Yellow Label so immediately recognizable, Cellar Master Dominique Demarville will draw on priceless reserve wines for the blend (from 30 to 45 Percent). Created in 1877, more than 140 years ago, the iconic yellow label – now the most recognizable colour in Champagne – continues to represent both the House’s heritage and its daring audacity.
On the nose: yellow and white fruits, then notes of vanilla and later of brioche. On the palate: freshness and strength while pear and lemon tastes appear. Finish: admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or almond notes distinct. Ideal as an aperitif, and ideal as the Champagne to enjoy with a meal. Yellow Label is the signature of Veuve Clicquot’ s quality and style, recreated every year thanks to the priceless collection of reserve wines. Its brilliant yellow label reflects the champagne’s bright personality and impeccable winemaking credentials.
Yellow Label is the signature of Veuve Clicquot. It manages to reconcile two opposing factors – strength and silkiness – and hold them in perfect balance with aromatic intensity and a lot of freshness. ON THE EYES: Golden-yellow with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. ON THE NOSE: Yellow and white fruits, then notes of vanilla and later of brioche
ON THE PALATE: Freshness and strength while pear and lemon tastes appear
THE FINISH: Admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo and re-echo with each fruit or almond notes distinct. Ideal as an aperitif and perfect as the Champagne to enjoy with a meal. Golden yellow with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles, with initial reminiscences of white fruits and raisins, then of vanilla and later of brioche.
With all the freshness and forcefulness so typical of Yellow Label, here is a true member of the powerful Brut family. Well structured, admirably vinous with lingering aromas echo and re-echo, with each fruit or spice note distinct.
